waves which crash over a beaten shore
clouds which cover a broken sky
fire which burns through an empty house
rage which bullies a restless mind.
rain tempers a doubtful thought
a storm calms a worry
wind softens a broken heart
a dream that lingers for days.
In constant wonder. [Fuji Velvia 100 Film / Leica M6]
In one single moment // Portra 400 / Leica M6.
“When you start on a long journey, trees are trees, water is water, and mountains are mountains. After you have gone some distance, trees are no longer trees, water no longer water, mountains no longer mountains. But after you have travelled a great distance, trees are once again trees, water is once again water, mountains are once again mountains.” [Zen teaching]
There will be a place for me to go.
Free from all the things that I don’t really need.
I often wish I could go back, change where I was standing, how I held the camera, the composition, the way the subject interacted with me, the shadows, the imperfections in the scene, etc etc etc. This also applies to the rest of my life, not just photography. I’m a control freak, a self-doubter and a perfectionist all in one. Eternally fighting myself for choices, even those I haven’t yet made. My heart is open but my head is full of incertitude. Lost, deep within a world which no longer looks or feels familiar. I have no idea where to put my feet down and where the walls are. I am forever wondering, wishing I could fly, away.
when the sky breathes into the water we will all sink.
There are few words to describe how truly beautiful nature is. [Raw image from camera. Brighton, UK - 4.30pm].
First colour scans from Ireland road trip coming in now. Connemara, Galway.
